I am Jennifer Googins, the Creator of Abbey Road Art Club. I am a Mississippi Gulf coast native, mother of two (Jessica & Jordan) and current resident of Pass Christian Mississippi. For more than 15 years I've used my artistic talents for canvas, decorative and mural painting, both for myself and clients. Hearing about Mississippi schools cutting art classes a few years ago, fueled my idea of opening a fun, spirited place to teach art and creative expression to kids! I opened my art club for kids in June of 2008, so I could teach art lessons that help children find their own outlets for self-expression, encouraging individuality. I am so proud that our art club has grown in to what I had envisioned, a fun creative place to explore the arts. We are always learning introductions to new crafts & mediums based on our members requests & favorites, with unique custom projects for each child every week. Every Saturday is always a whole new class. We have really seen a lot of creativity blossom in the last year and a half. Having small classes of 6 or less children per teacher has really allowed a lot of "one-on-one" instruction with the children. With members from across the coast, my goal of spreading the word about the importance of art for children is well on it's way! My sister Sabrina Groce, is also an instructor at our club. She is a self-taught, gifted artist, resident of Gulfport and mother of three. (Jacob, Cecilia and Emma) My youngest sister, Sheila Thomas, resident of Woolmarket, also teaches occasionally as a substitute teacher.
